The material meets the specifications of the Department of Transport Specification for Highway Works, clause 803 (SHW 803) and is graded 40mm to fines.

Uses
MOT Type 1 is a standard sub base material for roads but can be used for a wide range of other applications including drives, tracks, paths and foundations.
It is commonly used for load bearing surfaces or surfaces that expect a lot of traffic.
Typical civil engineering applications include roads, tracks, hard standings, building foundations and car parks.
